WHO WE ARE AT BIPOC STARTUPS

Innovation + Culture + Founders + Access

BIPOC Startups Organization is a platform built for the advancement and support of Innovative BIPOC Founders and Immigrant Founders in: Fintech, CleanTeach, Creative Tech, MedTech and Autonomous Mobility.

Our goal is to effect inclusivity in the above mentioned fields, facilitate access, funding, effect change, network and a safe space for BOLD BIPOC and Immigrant
Founders|Entrepreneurs.

BIPOC Startups is proud to announce the launch of our nationwide accelerators Starting in October 2024, focused on founders in Fintech, CleanTeach, Creative Tech, MedTech and Autonomous Mobility. We partner up with thought leaders leading innovation in their respective fields and major corporations whose values align.

We will also be launching our collegiate accelerator to encourage and support BIPOC and Immigrant  student entrepreneurship in college and high school. We are currently in partnership with colleges and high school institutions nationwide. We are seeking more partners!

BIPOC Startups is definitely a space to strategize on actionable opportunities to help us bridge the inequities that exist for us BIPOC Founders and Immigrant Founders.

OUR EVENTS

In December of 2023, BIPOC Startup Week was birthed by our founder Charlotte Epee-Willsun, a BIPOC and Immigrant female founder herself. She saw a lack of inclusivity in tech/startup weeks nationwide and decided to launch BIPOC startup week by all means necessary. BIPOC Startup week is a week for BIPOC and Immigrant Founders to connect, access friendly investors, financial institutions, learn about top trending industry insights from industry thought leaders and corporations that support an inclusive startup/entrepreneurial landscape. BIPOC Startup Week is a three day event; full of valuable information and connections. An opportunity to collaborate with like minded innovative BIPOC and Immigrant founders. Allies: locally, nationally and in the globally.

The Problem
BIPOC Startups Challenges

BIPOC and Immigrant Founders|Entrepreneurs constantly encounter challenges due to systematic barriers to access, scale and grow. These challenges are due to: existing systematic barriers to resources, capital and support.

There is a lack of representation/inclusivity in the med tech, fintech, creative tech and cleantech “Green Economy”.

Statistics show that BIPOC and Immigrant Founders|Entrepreneurs account for less than 2% of funding from Venture Capital firms.

BIPOC and Immigrant Founder|Entrepreneurs are often overlooked and have less access to government and corporate contracts.

BIPOC Startups and BIPOC Startup Week is here to help eradicate the challenges listed above and to be a part of building the bridge to close these gaps.

This is a platform to elevate, provide funding, access to contracts, access to innovation, resources, mentorship, discussion sessions led by industry experts/thought leaders and civic advocacy and engagement, working with our civic leaders to do right by us. These opportunities offer BIPOC and Immigrant Founders|Entrepreneurs in the ecosystem the ability to scale up and succeed in spaces that were once out of bounds to us.
